Pastors with pastors

My wife, Wanda and I, are heading off for a Thursday - Friday retreat event with other pastors and their wives in the greater Vancouver area. I am anticipating a great time.

I don't know why we call these things "retreats" and not "advances" because at the end of the time we normally are refreshed and ready to tackle things anew in the life of our spiritual communities, but retreats they are. The last time we went to this same place it was a great time to connect with other people going through simular experiences.

My hope at this retreat is to connect deeper with my wife. Who is the greatest woman on the planet. To reconnect with some good pastoral friends and to finish reading the book "The Shack" that I started reading a little while ago when my friend bought me a copy. It's a very interesting book. Worth the read!

These experiences are like the Sabbaths of life. These are great times to rest in the Lord. Enjoy the company of others. Slow down and smell the coffee!

Mark 1:35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.
