Glorify the LORD

We, as people, seem to be impressed with so many things. "Did you see that new car?" "Have you been in Jeff's new place?" "See how strong Joe is getting?" "Did you hear Sally got her second docorate" Everything is so impressive.

Why is it this way? Is it because we really don't see from the advantage point God has? Read this verse...

Jeremiah 9:23 Thus says the LORD:
“ Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom,
Let not the mighty man glory in his might,
Nor let the rich man glory in his riches;
24 But let him who glories glory in this,
That he understands and knows Me,
That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness,
judgment, and righteousness in the earth.
For in these I delight,” says the LORD.

This is simple. The LORD Himself says, wise men are not that wise, mighty men are not tough, and rich people are not that rich. You see God is looking from His throne room and making an accurate accessment of the situation. He is not impressed.

You want to glorify someone? God in says, "Glorify Me? I alone am worthy?" You see, anything else around God pales in comparision to God. Enjoy Him, it's the chief end of man!
